Strategic Transport Plan of Attica

Development, formulation, and documentation of a new Strategic Transport Plan for Attica (STPA) for a 20 years design period (2045). The development of the STPA shall yield evidence-based measures, actions, projects, and proposals, integrated into a comprehensive framework. This framework shall shape the structure, characteristics, and operational dynamics of the Attica Transport System.

- Formulation of the vision and high-level objectives of the STPA
- Origin-Destination (O-D) surveys and traffic counts
- Upgrading of OASA’s Strategic Transport Model (PTV VISUM)
- Development of an integrated Geospatial Database (GIS) and a Methodological Tool for the analysis of the existing conditions and the evaluation of alternative scenarios
- Future Travel Demand forecasts
- Formulation of institutional and operational measures, as well as transport network development proposals, aligned with the vision and objectives of the STPA
- Development and assessment of alternative packages of measures
- Selection of the optimal scenario using multi-criteria analysis and the Strategic Transport Model
- Cost estimation and scheduling for the implementation of the proposed measures, along with further detailing of selected interventions
- Establishment of a continuous planning and updating process
